I think there is an urge in everyone to walk along an ocean beach. Some say it is because we were developed in a watery womb before birth. Some say it is because our bodies are mainly water.
I say it is good to do because it brings you back to size. You realize how small you are. You realize how powerful the ocean is. And you know that you are here for just a short time and then you will be forgotten.
The prints I left as I walked along Carlsbad Beach made this clear. No sooner had my feet left the prints than a wave came in and washed them away. It was if I was never there.
