Garrietta
"GreenRoad" Training.... Transdev "HarrogateConnect" Optare Versa, 281,YJ12MZU. Station Parade Harrogate.
Here at Harrogate we are currently having the electronic telematics driver assessment programme GREENROAD... fitted to all the fleet
This works by each vehicle being fitted with 120 electronic sensors measuring driving styles and abilities. All driving is recorded by a computer and is sent to a main computer by real time GPS. From a driving point of view we have a tiny LED "Traffic Light" diode on the dashboard that shows green, orange or red depending on the driving standard. For example if you brake or accelerate smoothly you will see green, if you do it sharply but controlled you get an "Event" and you see the light change to orange....... Do any manouvre recklessly and you get an "Event" and the light goes RED....... ( Not good at all....)
Providing you drive calmly smoothly without any erratic manouvres it is reasonably easy to stay green !!!
You do have to remember to log yourself into the bus using a "Dallas" key magnet sensor...
Intrestingly..........
3 hours after your driving you can log onto any computer and see your drive and where if required you had an event ( this shows the speed and everything you can imagine with regards you driving of the said bus at said time......... Scary stuff !!! )
Certainly the most advanced technological spy in the cab to date
