Parkfield - Light Foundry

One of the perks of the job was we were allowed to bring our cars in at weekend to work on them. There was always lifting gear and welding equipment available. My 1973 Ford Consul was raised on a pallet using a forklift on more than one occasion.

The two towers in the background are the Light Foundry cupola furnaces. They were demolished in 1981 and replaced by the new Melt Shop, which served both Light and Heavy Foundries.
