Beetle - Carabus problematicus
At first thought it was a Violet Ground Beetle (Carabus violaceus) but not so sure as the elytra is not smooth!
Taken in a pine woodland due to be replaced by housing in Carrbridge, Cairngorm National Park, Scotland.
