Sacramento Metro FD -- Reserve Engine

This is an old picture (from 2006) of one of the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District's several 1980s-vintage Pierce Arrow pumpers, working as Engine 24 (Foothill Farms) at the time. I held off posting it because of all the shadows but I finally decided to so that I could add it to my Pierce Arrow Fire Apparatus group.

This engine was originally built for the American River Fire Protection District, which merged with the Sacramento County FPD in 2000 to form Sacramento Metro Fire. It is possible that this engine was recently retired--Metro Fire recently placed into service 20 new Pierce Quantum pumpers, which will make up roughly half of their fleet along with a number Velocity and late-model Dash pumpers.
