a personal note....
Firstly I apologize for the quality of this shot - it was taken a long time ago, not by me, and before I was even thinking about getting back into photography. This is a restoration of an Ottoman house (circa 1890) that my husband and I did about 10 years ago and from which we are moving tomorrow. It is bittersweet to be leaving this place. We love the village of Istanbul in which it is located, we have great neighbors, but we are tired of stairs and living in cramped quarters. And although this looks large, it is very skinny back to front, so there is not much space on each floor. We put our hearts and souls into this place - great wood work inside and lovely stained glass done by a Turkish artist friend of ours (Zeki Fındıkoğlu). However, it's time to move on, to have single floor living, more space, and a dedicated parking spot not on a hill!
There is a before photo and a view from the balcony in comments.
