Slaty Skimmer

A Slaty Skimmer (Libellula incesta) posing for me on a dried up bloom. A new species for me to add to the Mill Pond book. Years ago I never saw this species at the pond. The dominant species were Eastern Pondhawks and Blue Dashers. I have to wonder if such transitions are cyclical or affected by other factors. This is a male. I have yet to find a female.
