Mill Pond 2nd inlet

Besides being fed by springs Mill Pond is also supplied by a larger lake about 3/4 miles upstream. This is the marsh between that lake and Mill Pond. Besides providing great habitat for many animal species this marsh acts as a giant filter to absorb many chemicals that might have been washed in from farming or lawn fertilizing. I was standing on the dike between the marsh and Mill Pond when I took this. Two large culverts flow into the pond through the dike. This is 2 exposures blended in Photomatix that were taken just after the sun had set and the mist began to rise over the marsh. One of my favorite times of the day. Weezer is behind me of course. :)
