Interior view of a daffodil

Daffodils are great bulbs because they repel squirrels and other urban pests. If you plant them in the country they are also deer-resistant. I took this photo to show the soft, undulating interior of a daffodil flower, whose bright yellow color provides so much encouragement in early spring.

After the flowers die, leave the foliage alone so it can do photosynthesis and recharge the bulbs for next season.
