A bit of a long name, this is the Max Factory CAPCOM x Momochihama Chozai Pharmacy Chun Li statue, using art based on some promotional agreement between the aforementioned parties. Big hype about someone named Akiman involved in the artwork (and presumably the statue). I'm not familiar with this person, as my only love is Kinu Nishimura... that said, no hate here, just complete respect for the process.

This statue reminds me very much of that 1/5 Chun Li taking a break statue from... oh I want to say the late 2000s. Never got it, but that piece focused more on making Chun Li look less of a fighter and more of curvy model.

One day, Gadget, I'll find her.

So, how are things? I mean, aesthetically, certainly better than the last 1/6 Chun Li offering. I believe that was a Kinu Nishimura art reference piece, but between the warped face and the giant ass man hands, things looked a bit.. off. I love her, as I do all my Chun Li scales, but sh's a bit unloved in the community, which is a shame because those leg muscles on her standing leg are amazing.

Having said all that, there's some excellent care put into the reproduction of this Akiman art into statue form. I do like how they were able to convey the softer details used for the art, in particular the face, into statue for by using.. well, softer lines for the detailing and a semi gloss finish that makes everything seem dreamy. The overall reproduction of the pose is good (which isn't exactly what I'd call a regular occurrence), as are the proportions - the only thing that feels off to me is that either the face is a bit wide or it needs to turn a bit more to the right. I'm kind of torn between the eyes being beautifully dreamy, or that they need to be a smidgen sharper.

Being a 1/6 statue, this gives artisans more physical surface area to include some nice detailing into the statue, and there's not really a dull surface on this piece anywhere. The hair is nicely textured, clothing ruffled and wrinkled, and the sash is nicely textured. Body has some decent musculature on it as well, but isn't shaded like her legs are which would of course add to the cost but would have looked cool. Unfortunately, she's not that ripped that flash photography would bring it out.

The Paint Applications on this piece are sublime. As mentioned, the artists managed to select a combination of colours and finishes to give the piece a very hazy, dreamy appearance, which is generally a stark contrast to most of the other vibrant, kinetically charged Chun Li pieces. I mean, it makes sense given the subject matter, which is Chun Li taking a break.

Build Quality wise, not that there's much to break, but this is a nicely assembled piece that is solid due to pose and the general lack of parts.
