So while randomly scrolling through Facebook Marketplace, like I usually do, I stumbled across one of the earlier Pop Up Parade releases, one Saber Lily Second Ascension for a fair price, and so I picked it up and did my usual thing.

One thing you'll notice is that Saber Lily, and I think all the other Saber figures from this line, lack a weapon. Price points were even lower back a few years ago (3,900 vs 4,800 Yen) so I'm guessing that has something to do with it.

Saber Lily is sculpted in a elegant pose, twirling with her arms raised, dress spinning in the air. Unsurprisingly, the general quality observed in later releases is present here. Some of the trim paint is a bit sloppy, but nothing that would make me cry at this price point. To be fair though, this might be the most complicated figure, paint wise, I've seen from this line, and it was early on, so maybe they were working out a few things.

Fabric detailing is good, and there is a decent amount of hair detailing and musculature on her exposed back, though she's not meant to be a brawny character.

Comparing Saber Lily with Cammy, however, I did notice two things. First off, Cammy is TINY compared to Saber Lily. I don't think there's an official scale or anything. There's no real reason for Cammy to be smaller other than cost cutting... except that Cammy costs 4,800 Yen just like all the rest of them.

The second thing I noticed is the stand. Not that Saber Lily had a super fancy one to be gin with, but it still looks better thant hat non descript black puck on Cammy. Again, other than cost cutting, I can't think of any other reason for this. Or maybe I'm completely wrong and that the clear ones are only used for certain lines.
