The Warm Light of a Frosty Sunrise (after the Snowstorm); Loška Dolina/Lož Valley, Internal Karst Region, Notranjska, Slovenija

21-january-2024

Clear skies, stopped wind and albedo effect, generated a strong temperature inversion in the Karst-Dinaric Region basins with peaks of -23°C in Nova Vas-Bloke.

Here we are on the grassy bottom of the Lož basin, where the sharp drop in temperature, resulting in freezing fog, has filled the air with frozen vapor that floats like Diamond Dust and has further whitened the surfaces with valley Hoar Frost.
