The Highest Asphalted Road in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia, up to 2000m a.s.l., Winds Along the Steep Grassy Slopes of Mount Crostis (2251m a.s.l.) and Its Soft Mountain Chain, Carnia, Udine, Italia
5-july-2020: the asphalt stops shortly after the first "Casera"/summer farm/refuge, but the unpaved road continues for much of the southern mountain range up to mount Zoufplan (and then to the Cercivento village).
The road, or part of it, should have hosted a mountain stage of the "Giro d'Italia" (cycling), a few years ago, then nothing came of it (in fact it is a steep and very narrow road, definitely too much even for the already harassed professional cyclists) and maintenance immediately failed with inevitable endless work and closures.
