When we were children my Dad made syrup sponge pudding in the pressure cooker. We used to watch the whistle turning round and round with anticipation. The other day I was cycling home from work and I got a craving for that taste - the grainy sticky sweetness and the solid sponge. So I dug out an old cookbook and had a go. It was so good....
