Pond at Iceout, Powell, Idaho
I was ready for some trout fishing, but all the fish died during the winter--I could see their rotting bodies on the bottom. Winterkill is common when ponds have no inlets or outlets and are iced over--there's no way for the oxygen to be replenished.
