Image Stacking Example

Here you can see what image stacking can do for you. Image stacking is the combining of multiple images shot with similar parameters (which is different than HDR which combines images of various exposure levels). In this case, look at how much more detail shows up in shadow areas, under the eaves and doorway, compared to the standard single exposure on the left. You can see details in the bricks and doorway that are seemingly not there in a single image. Even the shrubs look better. It does require some software, such as EasyHDR that produced the image on the right, but there may be some free options out there. The image on the left was processed with DXOptics.

 

Fun to play with when you have a bunch of shots such as from a burst series.
