21 Year Old Toffee Went to the Rainbow Bridge Today

This is a photo of Toffee from 10 years ago. We are heartbroken. Toffee was 21 years old, and I had him for 19 of those.

 

He stopped eating a couple days ago and went peacefully in his sleep early this morning.

 

Toffee, thanks for being such a beautiful and lovable kitty.

 

Slater, our mini schnauzer, went up and lovingly nuzzled Toffee after he was gone, which was surprising because they were such adversaries.

 

Ode to Toffee:

Your golden eyes and blondest hair

You'd sneak up on me like a ghost

Return the favor of the scare

With a bounce you'd fly through the air

 

A wiser kitty I do not know

You opened all the closet doors

Since you were little, long ago

Trying to find what was yours

 

In the days that come

We'll miss the fur trails

And our hearts are sad, but that pales

To the love you gave for all those years
