As you can see from the alarm system on the top left of the first image security is very high so we unfortunately had to take poor photographic equipment hence the grainy images. We were lucky enough to get in once, very briefly when some workmen were in there. Dave managed to get a few shots off before we had to leg it to the top. I think the flashes gave us away !! I have never run so fast !
This is one of the three staircases that takes us 50 ft underground and are heading in the vicinity of the Market Square. Due to the links between the Western Heights and the Castle that intersect this site, there is a vast array of cable ducting for the communications equipment.
