New toys!
So here are some new toys I just bought from Henry Li at Blue Heron Arts.
The brushes are piston water brushes (you turn the top to suck in or discharge water, ink, or paint, rather than squeezing the bush as in most other water brush styles).
The ink is like water color in that you just need touch the wet brush to the block rather than grind it on a stone. A very convenient innovation if want wants to paint sumi-e plein air rather than in the studio.
Alas Henry doesn't (as far as I could find) display any of his Chinese style painting here on flickr buy you can find him on Youtube, just search Blue Heron.
