Looking down at Kinosaki

While in Kinosaki, an onsen town, we took the ropeway (cable car) up in to the mountains to a Buddhist temple. This is the view looking back down toward the town, the river and the distant mountains.

This temple, according to Japanguide.com: "Onsenji Temple (温泉寺, lit. "hot spring temple"). This temple is dedicated to a Buddhist saint who, according to legend, prayed for 1000 days to bring forth spring water to Kinosaki.

Watercolors.
