Large Flowered Wintergreen

Pyrola grandiflora Radius

This is a fairly common Arctic wildflower that often grows under or near willows in large colonies along the coast. It stands 10-15 cm high. I was lying on the ground to get this angle!

It, and other members of the same family contain a drug related to aspirin and poultices of the leaves have been used to reduce swelling and pain of bruises and wounds.
