Dwarf Fireweed

According to Page Burt who wrote the book "Barrenland Beauties" this is the truly arctic fireweed. It grows, at least where I saw it, never much more than 15 or 20 cm tall, but, like dandelions in the south, is everywhere. When you fly in to Iqaluit in the summer, one of the first things you notice, before leaving the aircraft is the pink/purple carpet.
