You may have seen it numerous times in the movies but, your first real-life glimpse of the silhouetted Buttes of Monument Valley is a guaranteed heart-stopping moment!!
There is only one hotel in Monument Valley and it is spectacular...rightly called "The View".
I took this picture from our balcony on the first evening as the Buttes were bathed in the light of the sinking sun.
You really expect to see John Wayne riding out at every turn or, at least, an apache!
We were lucky to have a private tour with our Navajo Indian guide through the interior of the Valley.
More to come later.
