Sunset
You might notice that this isn’t actually a sunset. It was going to be, but things didn’t quite work out.
Some background.
I’m a notoriously bad timekeeper. Always late. I have lost count of the number of times I have gone to shoot a sunset but arrived too late. So ………………..
Last weekend we were away camping. It was a lovely evening and the sunset looked as though it could be worth a shot or two. I was determined to be ready.
Set up the chair facing west, made myself comfortable, camera on tripod in front of me, table beside me with a glass of wine and some nibbles. All I had to do was wait. Easy Peasy, couldn’t fail.
Then I noticed the way the long grass in front of the tent was catching the sun. Like a halo effect. Beautiful. So I fired off a few shots. Different compositions, different exposures, different focussing etc etc. Click, click, click.
The sunset? Oh I missed it!
Best viewed with an alarm clock.
