Smoke...

Tried my hand at Smoke Photography. I was surprised by the amount of random shapes a simple wave of the hand can produce. For me, the keeper rate was low and was wondering if thats what you may have experienced too? This was finished in Photoshop Elements 5 using some selective high pass sharpening and the gradient tool.

Main flash,1/2 power and stand mounted CR with two black gobos elastic banded to the sides of the flash to prevent spill onto the BG. Second flash, @1/16th power CL sitting on the table and shot into a white reflector. White cardboard card next to flash to also prevent spill. Canon 28 - 135 IS lens @ f11, at approx.120mm. Xti @ 125th. sec. iso 200. Flashes triggered with RF602's. Camera fired with YongNuo wireless trigger.
