Lady Vervaine
Everything Must Go
All such fun. And yet Lady Vervaine couldn't help feeling obscurely depressed by the end of the night. Everything on sale; everything a commodity, a transaction. Something unsettling & inhuman about the lot of it. And I'm no particular fan of the Manic Street Preachers, but looking at all this, I couldn't help remembering that song of theirs, Everything Must Go:
"Shed some skin for the fear within
is starting to hurt me with everything.
Freed from the memory
escape from our history...
And I just hope that you can forgive us
but everything must go.
And if you need an explanation
then everything must go."
