Papico the cat linocut
The sweet, white, pink-nosed and pink-eared cat Papico is the subject of this linocut. The Japanese phrases (top to bottom, left to right) read, "Neko ga suki. Papico desu" which means "I like cats. This is Papico." I carved Papico's portrait for someone in Japan, who runs a cat rescue. I have made a small edition of four prints on cream-coloured Japanese kozo (or mulberry) paper, 10.75" by 14" (or 27.3 cm by 35.6 cm), printed in pink, dark gold and black ink.
