This lino block print shows a "crash" of rhinos, in all senses. The collective noun for a group of rhinoceros is a "crash". Though would one really need multiple rhino before a "crash" would be a good description? Luckily, my crash of rhino are all on paper. I love the weird and wonderful terms of venery - the collective nouns for groups of animals (or other things). The typography of the words, all carved by hand, in reverse, is intended to be representative. "Crash" collapses on itself. The stout letters in "Rhinos" have serifs like horns.

This linoleum block printed rhinoceros is made with dark gold printing and turquoise ink on Japanese kozo paper. It is inked "à la poupée" with different colours on a single block. It is in 12.5" by 10" or 31.7 cm by 25.4 cm in dimension . There are 6 prints in the edition.

There will be further terms of venery to come!
