A is for angel

We visited a cathedral in Dijon, France and my better half took a rubbing of many grave stones, including this angel. I photocopied the rubbing and hand-cut a stencil and then silk screened gold ink on white silk. The bands are gold silk. The A is printed from a vintage letterpress 'A' block.

This is my interminable alphabet quilt-in-progress. I thought I'd be clever and focus on printmaking, since I had more faith in my printmaking than sewing abilities. I should probably have simply sewn a very simple quilt to start... but here is the work in progress (WIP).
