koi pillow lino print on linen

Koi, the ornamental, domesticated carp, like giant goldfish, are considered a symbol of luck. In Japanese the word 'koi' can also mean love or affection, so koi fish are a symbol of friendship.

The koi is a linocut; carved in linoleum it has been hand-printed in orange water-based textile ink on charcoal linen. The backside of the pillow is a great striped fabric in colours which complement the orange koi.

It is stuffed with cotton-poly stuffing (some of us are allergic to feathers and avoid down like the plague).
