~ Life As I See it ~
Dixie
I arrived with my camera and Dixie arrived with her beautiful smile. We walked through the old village down toward the overgrown cranberry bogs. A red fox was waiting and although Dixie looked his way and asked him to come play, the little fellow ran off. The young black pup, instead, found a pine cone which made for the perfect toss in the air and catch me toy.
We turned, back up the hill, pass the general store. A young couple is spotted and with her bright eyes and wagging tail Dixie summoned them to come to her. She promptly won them over with her charm and she showered them with kisses.
We made our way to the cold water creek. A bit of hesitation at first, but once she felt how refreshing the water could be she joined us. Running and darting, splashing and prancing, biting and licking, jumping and spinning, she learned there were pleasures to founded in the cedar colored current.
I learned several things about Dixie today. She has a charming, win you over personality. She loves to play with anyone, anything, on land and in the water. She loves to give kisses to any one willing to receive them. And I learned a secret. Shhhh, you have to promise not to tell her. She lost a hind leg in an auto accident. She’s a tripod. But don’t tell her as she doesn’t know.
