Western National Matador
I can't remember taking this shot, but seemingly I did as it's attached to other negatives I have memory of! I'm presuming the location is Seaton, Devon if only by the 'Seaton Salerooms' sign on the adjacent building. I also presume the towing vehicle is a much modified WW2 AEC Matador 4x4 gun tractor. Like many of it's popular type when de-mobbed it's received a new coach-built body crafted from the owning bus company's stores, in this case, utilizing many an ECW part. I'm not sure whether the Bristol MW to it's rear had been barred in, or whether it had merely been parked there. The picture would have been taken about 1977/8.
Just out of interest, have any of the AEC Matadors built ever been scrapped? ... there still seems to be hundreds of them!
