Commandering position.
I don't take many interior shots but this was an exception being taken on behalf of the coach's prospective purchaser at the time. Having been within a mile or so today of where it currently lives and therefore thinking about it, I thought I'd look out the pictures I took. Amongst them was this showing the 'cock pit' ... perhaps an apt term for a Leyland coach of this era where the driver sat so low down he (or she!) could barely see over the dashboard and could easily trap their fingers between the steering wheel and the instument panel.
Oh, the coach is a 1969 ex Maidstone & District Leyland Leopard with Duple Commander IV bodywork.
Are there any other Commanders likely to be, or indeed preserved?
