For many, the star of the Express Motors fleet is their open top Bristol VR UVW 622S. Once again this year the bus has made it's annual appearance on a shuttle service linking the Ffestiniog Railway's 'Harbour' station, the Welsh Highland Railway (1964)'s operation, the Cambrian Coast line at the other end of town and the Pont Croesor railhead where the majority of the 'big' Welsh Highland trains terminate. Twice a day the service diverts to serve the holiday parks at Morfa Bychan (Black Rock Sands area) and it was returning from there that this picture was taken.
I'd seen the top of bus approaching in the distance over the trees, but thoroughly expected the little group of walkers who'd shown up out of nowhere to louse it up after all the planning! ... Luckily ....
