Pride, 1961 style.
I seems almost inconceivable nowadays that two of Britain's chassis manufacturers and two of our body manufacturer could churn out this number of buses and more to multiple operators across the country . . . and indeed the world. PMT's 1961 order was for Alexander bodied AEC Reliance single decks and Weymann bodied low height Leyland Atlanteans. The company then used Stoke City FC's training ground / car park to fan the buses out and take several permutations of this photo using a professional photographer.
Recently all this area has been built upon, and in the '80s the dual carriageway A500 cut across the scene laft to right 'above' the level of the buses.
