Wake's of Sparkford
The other long term player independent wise serving Yeovil was Wake's of Sparkford, a village to the north east. Whilst their buses were relatively youthful at the time of my visits and well presented, all the ones I ever came across were Bedfords. Naturally as time has gone by, I wished I'd taken more of this classic British builder's products, but at the time, the camera was only raised grudgingly to any 'lightweight'. PYB 743L, a Bedford YRT, exemplifies the typical standard design of Willowbrook bodywork so often fitted to such lighter duty chassis if the operator wasn't specifying a 'Grant Coach'.
The picture was of course taken on Yeovil bus station, the other bus is a Hutchings & Cornelius Bristol LH / ECW.
