1960's coach station?

Well no, not really but a reasonable if unintentional representation I thought. The picture was I think taken at FoKAB's New Years Day Winchester event circa 2002. It depicts Steve Morris (mentioned in the previous post) suitably attired at the wheel of recently acquired RDB 846. The Alexander bodied AEC Reliance 470 had been sourced by 'SemmyTrailer' from NI enthusiast and collector Jim Poots of Portadown who'd repainted it into the livery of erstwhile local independent 'Sureline of Lurgan'. Once with Quantock, it was quickly re-painted again into the livery of it's original owner, North Western Road Car. Before very long, a reassessment of the aims and requirements of the Quantock fleet saw it moved on to a private collector in Gloucestershire... where I believe it still resides. The bus visited RBW for various bits of attention under both owners, and my recollection is of a bus with wonderful agility and incredible power from it's smallish 7.6 litre engine.
