Immaculate Tiger Re-body.
Even by normal standards, today's driving stock was well varied. After starting with an ex Cleveland Transit Dennis Dominator which required some minor repairs and attention to it's heaters, next up was this indescribably tidy re-bodied Leyland Tiger. This chassis originally carried a 12m Wadham Stringer offering and was re-bodied in 1999 by East Lancs for it's new owner Jim Stones. The bus could almost be described as ex works as it's new body celebrates it's tenth birthday ... a true credit to that operator. Almost equally astounding is the fact that it's reason for disposal was it's being deemed too old for school contracts by the 'one size fits all' Local Authority.
Next bus to drive was an ex Stagecoach short Dennis Javelin Plaxton Premier 'Interurban'. The day was finished off with a nip over the Pennines to drive an AEC Bridgemaster on a Wedding Hire across Leeds. Life's not dull!
