Dane Motors, Bedford, Moseley Estoril.

I really can't imagine why I took this shot at the time, as it didn't fit into any of my fairly narrow minded interest categories. It was a 'lightweight' Bedford Chassis, with a 'foreign' body and an operator I'd no knowledge of. However looking back at this pic of Moseley (Caetano) Estoril II bodied Bedford YMT, SUT 404R, I'm sort of glad that I did. Strangely, it's not wholly for the coach, but the incidental inclusion of Hanley's railway station (the white painted buildings to the rear of the bus) These have long since been demolished and are now under the extension of the 'Grand Hotel's car park. The station, closed as part of the Beeching cull, was on the NSR 'Loop Line', the tracks and platforms were in a deep and sharply curving cutting below road level. The aforementioned curvature was a factor which precluded the use of most 'modern' coaching stock from using the line, possibly a contributory factor in the decision to close. Strange as it may seem to an outsider, Hanley is actually commercially considered to be Stoke on Trent City Centre!
