PMT Leyland Leopard Willowbrook, 952 XVT.

Just to join up the dots so to speak of a couple of my most recent postings, here's a sister vehicle to the one we tracked down this week in Ireland. 952 XVT outlived it's sisters by nature of the fact that it was converted into the MAP (Market Analasis Project) bus. This survey carried out on a huge scale 'did what it said on the tin', and resulted in the culling of vast parts of the network in the early 1980s. From a vehicle point of view it put the final nails into the coffins of most older and none standard types, as with reduced workload there were sufficient of the NBC standard types... ie Bristols VR and RE, Leylands National and Leopard.

952 is seen here on what was locally known as 'The Ranch', a piece of rough parking ground to the rear of PMT's Stoke HQ., the picture was taken shorly before it was gutted and made into a mobile office.
