Lost Kent Independent.

It is several years now since the business of Fuggles of Benenden closed, this shot was taken in 1988. The bus is a 1976 Bedford YLQ Duple Dominant service bus, NKE 303P. By the wet oil around the lift up engine flap it appears that either the engine is gassing, or someone hasn't replaced the dip-stick or oil filler cap properly. I think that the picture was taken outside Rye railway station, someone more local would know for sure, as my note taking was none existant. At first, I was going to crop out most of the yellow notice board, until I read that it proclaimed the building of a new coach park for British Rail, and a new bus garage for Hastings & District... does the latter still exist, was it ever built and who's is it now if it was?
