KRU 52F
Just as a follow on from the previous posting, here's one from my early days of bus photography taken inside Bournemouth Transport's Mallard Road depot. It shows Willowbrook bodied Daimler Roadliner SRC6, KRU 52F (and an unidentified sister to the rear) parked with little work ahead of them, in 1976.
Like all other purchasers of the type, Bournemouth didn't really get value for money out of them, some attaining only minimal years in service. It's said that from a fleet of eleven Roadliners, Bournemouth had seventeen Cummins V6.200 engines subject to warranty repairs at one point. Only one, KRU 55F achieved anything like a respectable working career, but that was largely due to the replacement of its Cummins engine with a Perkins V8.
