Nothing changes ...
... well with the exceptions of weight and hair loss! My enthusiasm for odd-ball British PSVs is just as great now as it ever was.
This picture was taken at Bournemouth Transport's famed Mallard Road depot in 1979 just as their sporadic Daimler Roadliner operation was coming to an end. The municipal fleet had eleven on fleet strength, delivered in two batches, some on 'F' plates and some on 'G's. At the time, the only operational example was KRU 55F which survived thanks to its conversion from Cummins V6 power, to Perkins V8. Thankfully it survives still.
Here at the back of the garage, several very youthful slightly stripped but generally 'mint' Roadliners await their fate. I think only one other made it out of there 'alive' to spend a short time with an independent operator.
