A blue Midland Red Fleetline.
A bus which always stirs debate amongst the rivet counters because it wears a livery in preservation it never wore 'in service'. I'm afraid I subscribe to the viewpoint that whoever put the money up to buy and save it, has the right to paint it whatever colour he or she desires. Anyway, it's not a great step of imagination as several similar ex Midland Red Alexander bodied Daimler Fleetlines were treated to this livery with the take-over of Midland Red routes / infrastructure / hardware upon the formation of the WMPTE in the early to mid 1970s.
Here, 1969 built UHA 225H sets out on free bus service duties at POPS rally last weekend. The bus has recently had a replacement engine fitted by it's present custodian and now sounds very fit indeed, the old unit was absolutely worn out and failed several months ago.
