The idea for this image is civilization had moved up above ground closer to the atmosphere. Ground level is still habitable with the proper equipment and attire. There are dangerous scavengers living at ground level, but not shown in this image. The human seen here is reference for scale. the vehicles are more modern in style because I wanted to give some indication that this was a not so distant future. The sky scrapers in the back ground are actually support columns and access points to the upper levels of the city. Civilization rely on flying vehicles, the ones seen here could be secure forces, maintenance or scavengers.
I created the line drawing in Painter Essentials and continued the paint over in Adobe Photoshop Essentials.
