Day 14: the places of my youth
Wanted to visit one of my favorit towns: Tübingen, a famous and traditional swabian university town. I spend a lot of time here in my youth (from 16 to approx. 21). Tübingen has a wonderful atmosphere and air. Youthful because of the many many students but also an air of history and dignity because of the wonderful medieval old town (one of the few original medieval towncenters which survived the WW2). I just love to get lost in the small and narrow lanes, hear the music of the street musicans, sit in one of the many caffèes or restaurants, enjoy a drink in the beer gardens or sit on the banks of the river Neckar, listening to the conversations and discussions of the many young people/students - and sometimes join in ;o)
I spend the whole day and a lot of the early night in Tübingen and - borne with the good mood - found the courage to phone another old friend of mine while gazing down from the old castle into the old town. It was another blast - and rather long phone call :o) My friend Deborah spontanously invited my to spend a frew days at her place in Stuttgart to catch up. She even wanted to take a day off from work and coaxed my to agree to join her and her friends to their badminton-training :o). I wanted to drive home to cologne tomorrow - but now I stay 'till saturday in good ol' Stuttgart :o) It's great to be able to be spontanous!!!!
(a whole buch of photos from tübingen is coming soon..or rather someday :o) )
