Rippled Landscape
Another shot from the edge of the Mesquite Flats dunefield in Death Valley. This image is from the northern edge of the dune field which extends thousands of yards/meters up the valley.
The bushes collect blowing sand under them and tend to then produce roots in the sand mounds (called coppice mounds), enhancing the process. They also affect the movement of wind and sand, and hence the patterns of ripples that cover the landscape.
