Moss Lake Sunrise

I spent much of Friday and Saturday in northern Minnesota a little bit north of Grand Rapids, so had an opportunity to do some shooting in the Chippewa National Forest.

I got up early on Saturday to shoot Moss Lake at sunrise. This image came a few minutes later. Sunrise revealed calm winds, a coating of frost on the vegetation, mists floating above the water, and a cloudless sky. The hummocks on the right-hand shore are willow bushes or other shrubs growing along the water's edge illuminated by the low angle rays of the rising sun.
