Winnibigoshish

This photo, which was taken in March while ice-fishing with a friend on Lake Winnibigoshish, reminds me of the salt flats at Badwater Basin in Death Valley. The slightly diagonal feature just below the horizon is the "road" we took to drive out - the roughest ice road I've ever been on. It was a wild ride getting out to this spot, but the company was great, the perch were biting, and the temperatures were reasonably warm for mid March, making for a very pleasant day.

The ice and snow look quite refreshing following on the heels of a week of high temperatures and high humidity.
