Building Clouds
We had interesting skies the other night around sunset. Thunderheads were slowly building to the west, highlighted by the late evening sunlight behind them.
I went out to the end of the driveway and was shooting photos of the thunderhead building on the right hand side of this image and another one just off the left side of the frame. My neighbor came out to chat and watch, bringing two micro-brewed beers with him (you gotta love neighbors like that!).
We watched the clouds and the skies for about a half hour, drinking beer, dodging raindrops, and me shooting photos. Afterwards I learned we were under a tornado watch as rotational clouds had been observed in these thunderheads, but there was no indication at groundlevel. Apparently there wasn't enough energy to spawn tornadoes, but we came close.
